We start planning this event a year in advance. We've learned a lot of things over the years and met a whole bunch of wonderful people from across the state too. But we just can't foresee the weather. So next year we will be better equipped for what ever comes our way. One thing is certain It's the people attending who make this event what it is, not the material things nor the recreational activities. But one way we hope to attract more people is to make a commitment to continual improvement in making this event a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience that's geared specifically for single adults who don't typically enjoy camping. We want to create opportunities for people to stretch themselves beyond their comfort zone and try something differentnew, and expand their circle of friends. Many participate to pursue their recreational passion, some come to get away from the rat-race for a few days, some come for just the fellowship and to meet new people. What ever the reason, we'd love to have you join us next year, and for years to come. Dan Russell from Pathway's Church in Appleton came up with our new tag line. Dan's comment was; "This is the most non-camper friendly camping event you'll ever attend!" Moments later, we dove into the ice cream he picked up after our kayak trip for an after-dinner treat. Where else on earth can you go camping and be with friends that can't leave their ice cream at home for a few days? We really don't rough it as one might believe. Nearly all the comforts of home. And lots of fresh air and gut-busting laughter that will have you snoring like a lumberjack. Next year there will be a question on the registration form asking if you snore after a long day in the great outdoors. We have reserved a special soundproof campsite for next year. What? Of course I'm kidding!
